OTR International Film Festival Social Media Intern

Timeline: Positions available fall 2020 through mid-summer 2021

The social media intern will assist the communications manager in executing the film festival’s social strategy on social media platforms, including building following and engagement among audiences. The intern will play an important role in creating community online around the festival and its mission of celebrating shared humanity and seeing through another’s eyes. This intern will research best practices, develop content ideas and post daily or weekly on film festival accounts. Work and meetings will be done remote/virtually if our office remains closed in the fall.

OTR Film Festival Formatting & Captioning Intern

Timeline: Available from Jan 2021 – May 2021

The formatting and captioning intern will work with the Film Programmer (primarily via FilmFreeway) to guarantee each selected film asset arrives in the proper screening format from filmmakers or distributors. In addition, the intern will make sure that the films are captioned or assist in the process of creating as accurate a caption track as possible.

OTR Film Festival Digital Media Support: Barking Fish

Timeline: Available from April 2021 – July 2021

Working in conjunction with the Barking Fish production team, the digital media support intern will perform quality control checks on the captioning of films after completion and possible follow up with filmmakers to ascertain that captioning meets their standards. The intern will also assist Barking Fish on the captioning of film trailers, promotional video elements, and pre-screening reels produced for the event.

OTR Film Festival Theatre House Management: Development & Volunteer Support

Timeline: Available from April 2021 – July 2021

Under the guidance of the Volunteer Coordinator, the theatre house management intern will learn the protocols (accessibility, screening concerns, volunteer positions) and be prepared to serve as a lead at a screening venue.

OTR Film Festival Special Events Planning Support

Timeline: Available from April 2021 – July 2021

Under supervision from the Volunteer Coordinator, the special events planning support intern with directly assist the marketing and events team with advance efforts in the community as well as events-based support at venues throughout the festival.
