Opening Night - Ohio Innocence Project

Opening Night - Ohio Innocence Project

September 26, 2018 7:00 pm | SCPA - Corbett Theater
In collaboration with University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati Opera

Featuring a sneak peek from Cincinnati Opera's 2019 show, Blind Injustice - based on the true stories of six exonerees who found freedom through the Ohio Innocence Project.
Tickets: $10

See the film: Conviction: The True Story of Clarence Elkins – In a small town in Ohio, a grandmother was raped and killed, and her 6-year old granddaughter raped and left for dead, after an intruder entered the grandmother’s home in the middle of the night. Clarence Elkins, the grandmother’s son-in-law and uncle of the little girl, was promptly arrested for the crime and sent to prison for life. Clarence insisted on his innocence, and never gave up hope throughout the 8-year ordeal. CONVICTION is a gripping story of justice gone wrong, and also a meditation on the role of luck in the criminal justice system. In order for Clarence Elkins family and supporters to prove his innocence, all of the stars had to align perfectly. Its a story that would be unbelievable if it weren’t true.
